About Yard Clue

Yard Clue is an independent publication about the outdoor side of home life: yards, patios, decks, furniture, structures, and the materials and services that go into them.

What we publish

Three things. First, in-depth guides on outdoor living topics, from furniture materials and finishes to backyard structures, written from specifications, standards, and university extension research rather than press releases. Second, a nationwide yard service directory covering landscapers, lawn care companies, tree services, gardeners, irrigation contractors, and landscape designers. Third, free calculators for planning yard projects: mulch, soil, gravel, sod, seed, fertilizer, pavers, fencing, and more.

Where the directory data comes from

Directory listings are compiled from public business data, primarily the open Overture Maps Foundation places dataset. We show each business's public name, address, phone, and website so you can contact them directly. We do not sell placement, we do not broker leads, and businesses do not pay to appear. Data can lag reality; always verify a business before hiring, and see our hiring guide for how.

Corrections and removals
